On Thursday, RWR Eurasia announced that Austin Dillon will compete in next month’s Rolex 24 Daytona in the No. 35 RWR Eurasia Ligier JS P217 in the LMP2 class along with Cody Ware and Salih Yoluç. The team will name a fourth driver at a later date.

The 2018 Daytona 500 winner will join fellow Cup Series driver Chase Elliott, current Xfinity Series driver AJ Allmendinger, and former Cup Series driver Jimmie Johnson. In 2020, Dillon competed in 35 races with one win at Texas Motor Speedway along with four top-five and nine-top ten finishes. He did miss one race due to COVID-19.
Dillon has made 264 starts in his ten-year Cup Series career, winning six poles, three races, fifteen top-five, and 49 top-ten finishes, all with Richard Childress. He has also competed in the Camping World Truck Series, winning the 2011 championship, and the Xfinity Series, winning the 2013 Xfinity Series championship.
The Roar Before the 24 takes place on January 22nd through the 24th with a qualifying race to set the field for Rolex 24 Daytona. The 2021 Rolex 24 Daytona starts Saturday, January 30th at 3:40 pm and continues through the 31st on NBCSN, NBC, and NBC Sports Gold Track Pass.
