After the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series race at Kansas Speedway Friday afternoon, it was the ARCA Menards Series turn to tackle Kansas Speedway in the Dawn 150 Friday night. A pair of Toyotas were on the front row as Riley Herbst was the pole-sitter with Michael Self next to him on the front row. ARCA officials put in two pit road breaks at laps 30 and 60.

Once the green flag dropped, Riley Herbst was able to get ahead of Michael Self at turn one to keep the lead. Bret Holmes began making his way through the field to get by Michael Self for the second position three laps into the race. Hailie Deegan lost a couple of positions to Ryan Repko and Corey Heim as she dropped to sixth place. Cory Heim would get by Michael Self for the third position on the sixth lap.
Meanwhile, Bret Holmes was catching Herbst just trailing him by .45 seconds. Michael Self continued to lose positions this time the fourth spot to Ryan Repko. The first caution came out at lap 14 as Russ Lane got loose coming out of turn two to hit the inside wall hard. Lane climbed out of the car and appeared to be alright.

The race restarted on lap 18 with Riley Herbst as the leader. Bret Holmes got alongside Herbst side-by-side for a lap before Holmes would take over the lead on lap 21. During the green flag run, Tanner Gray had to do a pass-through penalty for a restart violation. In another good battle, Drew Dollar, Michael Self, and Derek Griffith were battling for the sixth position. Griffith would take the sixth spot as Drew Dollar got by Michael Self for seventh.

Meanwhile, Bret Holmes had a 3.25 second lead on Riley Herbst as the second caution came out on lap 31 for the first pit road break. Tanner Gray got the free pass. Crews had five minutes to work on the cars, add tires and fuel. Once the break was over, the race got back underway on lap 34 with Bret Holmes in the lead.
During the green flag run, Corey Heim moved up to second place, getting by Riley Herbst. On lap 37, Drew Dollar got loose and made contact with Hailie Deegan coming off of turn four fighting for the fourth spot.

Bret Holmes had a 1.96 second lead on Corey Heim by lap 45. Hailie Deegan was able to move up to eighth place, passing Tanner Gray on the outside, coming off of turn two at lap 59. The third caution would come on lap 61 for the second pit road break. Bret Holmes led 43 laps, the most he has led in his career. Once the break was over, it was time to get back to racing on lap 65.

Bret Holmes got a great jump on the restart as Corey Heim spun his tires, allowing Ryan Repko to take second place and Michael Self third place. Holmes began to pull away from the rest of the field. On lap 68, Derek Griffith took the seventh position away from Hailie Deegan with an inside pass coming out of turn two. Deegan would also lose the eighth position to Drew Dollar on the same lap. Two laps later, Corey Heim was able to catch Ryan Repko to take the second position away from him on the outside of the front stretch.
Meanwhile, Bret Holmes had a 1.63 second lead on Heim, and the lead only got bigger. With 12 laps to go, Michael Self got loose coming off of turn four, allowing Drew Dollar to close in on him. Luckily for Self, he was able to hold on to the sixth spot. For Bret Holmes, his lead grew to 7.96 seconds, with eight laps to go. Corey Heim and Ryan Repko were battling for the second position with two laps to go, allowing Bret Holmes to increase his lead. Corey Heim would lose two spots to both Ryan Repko and Riley Herbst and settled for fourth place.
Bret Holmes would go on to earn his first career win in the ARCA Menards Series Dawn 150 by 14.458 seconds over Ryan Repko. Holmes led the last 82 laps after Riley Herbst led the first 19 laps.

The rest of the top ten finishers were Riley Herbst third, Corey Heim fourth, Tanner Gray fifth, Michael Self sixth, Drew Dollar seventh, Derek Griffith eighth, Hailie Deegan ninth, and Thad Moffitt tenth. There was only one lead change in the race and three cautions for ten laps.
With the win, Bret Holmes closed in on the points leader Michael Self now only trailing him by nine points. Drew Dollar sits in third place, Hailie Deegan fourth, Thad Moffitt fifth, Ryan Huff sixth, Ty Gibbs seventh, Tanner Gray eighth, Sam Mayer ninth, and Chandler Smith tenth. The next race for the ARCA Menards Series will be a doubleheader starting next Friday with race one in the Menards.com 200 from Toledo Speedway at 8 pm on MAVTV or the NBC Sports Gold Track Pass.
