On Thursday, Brett Moffitt announced that he is leaving GMS Racing to compete in the Xfinity Series full-time next year for Our Motorsports in 2021. Joe Williams will return as Moffitt’s crew chief. Moffitt showed himself on Twitter signing a contract along with a statement saying, “2020 was a learning year for Our Motorsports, and the program is now ready to step up to another level. I’m thankful for the last two seasons with GMS Racing and the support Maury Gallagher, Spencer Gallagher, Ron Booth, Mike Beam, and the entire team gave me.”

Moffitt competed in 29 races this year for Our Motorsports, tallying one top-five finish and seven top-ten finishes. Moffitt competed for GMS Racing for two years after winning the Camping World Truck Series title in 2018 for Hattori Racing Enterprises before being released by the team shortly after. Moffitt started in 82 races with 12 wins in his Truck Series career, 39 top-five finishes, 52 top-ten finishes, and winning three poles.
Shortly after the announcement, GMS Racing released a statement on Twitter with, “Brett Moffitt will not be returning to GMS for the 2021 season. We can’t thank Moffitt enough for his commitment to GMS over the past two years. We wish him the best of luck at Our Motorsports next year.”

Last week, Fr8Auctions, a company based in Atlanta, GA, will sponsor Moffitt for four races at both Talladega Superspeedway and Atlanta Motor Speedway. Additional sponsors will be announced at a later date.
