After the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Trucks Series raced Sunday morning, it was the NASCAR Xfinity Series turn to tangle the trifecta at Pocono Raceway in the Pocono Green 225 Recycled by J.P. Mascaro & Sons. Chevrolets made up six of the first eight spots with Noah Gragson on the pole and Myatt Snider next to him. NASCAR put in a competition caution for lap 10. There was another prize on the line, and that was the Dash 4 Cash. The drivers competing for the Dash 4 Cash were Ross Chastain, Justin Haley, Austin Cindric, and Dexter Bean. The driver who finishes in the highest position wins $100,000.
Not even one lap into the race, Brandon Jones, who had won the truck race this morning, was involved in the first wreck of the race. He started to get loose exiting turn one before Austin Cindric tapped him, and Jones car spun and hit the inside wall bringing out the first caution of the day.

When the race resumed on the fifth lap, once again coming off of turn one, two separate crashes happened at the same time involving Josh Williams and Joe Graf Jr. to bring out the second caution. Because of this caution, NASCAR canceled the competition caution.

On the restart, The JR Motorsports teammates Noah Gragson and Justin Allgaier were battling for the lead when Allgaier got loose coming off of turn one but managed to make an incredible save. Allgaier would fall to the eighth position.

Four laps later, Harrison Burton became the latest driver to wreck exiting turn one when he got loose and hit the inside wall hard, bringing out the third caution of the day. NASCAR then put the race under the red flag to clean up the track. They did several rounds of speedy dry and blowing it off as you could see the fluid layed down. The red flag lasted twenty minutes.

Once the red flag lifted, a majority of the lead lap cars made pit stops. Austin Cindric was the leader as the race resumed on lap 18 with two laps to go in stage one. Once again, turn one snatched up another driver when Alex Labbe was the next person to get loose exiting off of turn one and hit the inside wall, thus ending stage one who was won by Austin Cindric.

Austin Cindric, Timmy Hill, Myatt Snider, and other lead-lap cars pitted. Ryan Sieg was caught speeding on pit road and went to the rear of the field. Ross Chastain was the new leader as the race got back underway to start stage two on lap 27. Austin Cindric gained a ton of positions moving from eleventh to fifth in five laps. Ross Chastain, Justin Haley, and Chase Briscoe all pitted with two laps to go in stage two. Justin Allgaier was the new leader after Chastain had pitted. He would go on to win stage two.

Under the caution, all of the leaders except for Chastain and Haley pitted. Chastain and Haley were now on the front row as the final stage began on lap 45. Four laps into the final stage, Justin Haley moved up the track and hit Riley Herbst at the start/finish line to bring out the sixth caution of the day. Haley was issued a two-lap penalty, and the crew was called to the hauler after the race.

Chase Briscoe was the leader as the race resumed on lap 58. Briscoe had issues on the 69th lap when his car got a flat tire causing him to spin exiting turn two to bring out the eighth caution of the day.

Some of the leaders pitted taking either two tires or four tires. Myatt Snider was now the leader as the race resumed on lap 73. His lead was short-lived as Ross Chastain got by him to take the lead and lost the second position to Chase Briscoe. Both of those cars pulled away, leaving it to just them in the closing laps.

In overtime, Ross Chastain and Chase Briscoe left the field behind, and it was down to the two of them. Chastain was the leader when Briscoe bumped Chastain for the lead. Briscoe’s car pulled away from Chastain, and he would win the Pocono Green 225 Recycled by J.P. Mascaro & Sons. While Chastain would’ve love to won the race, he did win the Dash 4 Cash worth $100,000, finishing in second place.
