On Monday, JD Motorsports w/Gary Keller announced that Jeffrey Earnhardt will return to the Xfinity Series in the No. 0 Chevrolet Camaro full-time in 2021. The 31-year-old from Mooresville, NC, who is the son of Kerry Earnhardt and grandson of Dale Earnhardt, competed in 29 races this year with thirteen top-twenty finishes. His highest finish of the 2020 season came in eleventh at the Charlotte Roval.

Earnhardt’s statement on returning to the team said, “We got a late start and the plan was to run six to twelve races but something good was happening and by Bristol you could sense the momentum we were having. We came home in 15th in our third race and that’s an accomplishment when just a few weeks earlier we had no plans to work together. We had great partners join us and the season had some real bright spots to build on.”
Before joining JD Motorsports w/Gary Keller last year, he competed in six races in 2019; five of them were with Joe Gibbs Racing, where he had one top-five and three top-ten finishes, including a third-place finish at Charlotte Motor Speedway. He has made 102 starts in eight years in the Xfinity Series.
Earnhardt has competed in the Camping World Truck Series, NASCAR Pinty’s Series, NASCAR Whelen Euro Series, and the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East. During his three-year career in the K&N Pro Series East, Jeffrey raced for DEI in 2007 and 2008. He won one pole with eight top-five and twelve top-ten finishes. In 2007, he finished fifth in the point standings.
The team announced that further sponsorship, along with more driver announcements, will be made soon.
