Kyle Busch disqualified, Austin Cindric wins the My Bariatric Solutions 300

The NASCAR Xfinity Series made its way to Texas Motor Speedway Saturday afternoon in the My Bariatric Solutions 300. A pair of JR Motorsports teammates were on the front row with Michael Annett, the pole-sitter alongside Jeb Burton. Temperatures for the race was 94 degrees, the hottest race for the Xfinity Series this year. Bayley Currey was the only driver starting the rear of the field for inspection failure. A competition caution was placed on lap 20.

Four laps into the race, Noah Gragson got into the back of Riley Herbst, causing Herbst to get loose and hit the rear end of the outside wall off of turn 4 to bring out the first caution of the race. Herbst rear was destroyed, and he had to come to pit road. Unfortunately for Herbst, his day was done, and he finished in 36th place. Before the wreck, Austin Cindric got by both Annett and Burton for the lead.

The race restarted on the ninth lap with Cindric in the lead. Kyle Busch was now up to tenth place after starting in 28th place. Myatt Snider would bring out the second caution of the race as he had a little bit of help from Matt Mills and smacked the outside wall coming off of turn two.

Some cars did come to pit road, including Justin Allgaier, Timmy Hill, Jeb Burton, while others stayed out. The race resumed on lap 24. Allgaier and Cindric were battling for the lead. Allgaier almost spun out Cindric before getting by him, and winning stage one, his sixth stage win of the year. Under the caution, all of the leaders came to pit road with Kyle Busch winning the race off of pit road. However, he was caught speeding and had to restart in the rear of the field. Austin Cindric was the leader as the race resumed on lap 52 to start stage two.
About nine laps into the restart, Myatt Snider lost his rear bumper to bring out the third caution of the day. Justin Haley, Jesse Little, Timmy Hill, Tommy Joe Martins, Stefan Parsons, and Bayley Currey all pitted. Justin Allgaier was the leader as the race resumed on lap 73. Allgaier and Cindric continued their battle for the lead. Allgaier was able to use the outside lane to power his way past Cindric to keep the lead. Chase Briscoe and Ross Chastain made contact sending Chastain hard into the outside wall off of turn four.

Two laps later, Kody Vanderwal brought out the fifth caution of the race, making contact with the outside wall off of turn two. Anthony Alfredo, Justin Haley, Ross Chastain, and others pitted while the leaders stayed out. Allgaier led the field back to green on lap 79. Allgaier was able to hold onto the lead from Cindric and take the stage two win.

Anthony Alfredo and Ross Chastain stayed out while the rest of the leaders pitted. The race resumed at lap 97 with Alfredo in the lead. Alfredo would lose the lead to Ross Chastain on the same lap. Alfredo would get the lead back before Justin Allgaier passed him and Chastain for the lead. Kyle Busch was also in the mix. He got loose and fell to the fourth position.

On lap 107, Anthony Alfredo got up high into the turn two wall and smacked it hard to bring out the sixth caution of the day. Michael Annett, Timmy Hill, Jesse Little, Brandon Jones, pitted while others stayed out.

The race got back underway at lap 112 with Allgaier, the leader. Three laps into the restart, Kyle Busch took the lead from Allgaier. Noah Gragson and Austin Cindric were battling for the third position when Gragson got loose and hit the outside wall off of turn two, he would continue and would hit the turn three wall to bring out another caution for the seventh time.

Some of the leaders came to pit road, including Kyle Busch, Harrison Burton, Chase Briscoe, Ross Chastain, while others stayed out. Justin Allgaier was the leader as the race resumed on lap 123. Kyle Busch restarted in the 15th position. Allgaier was dealing with lapped traffic and lost the lead to Austin Cindric on lap 153. Three laps later, Jeb Burton made a scheduled green-flag pit stop to start the field with their stops. Cindric and Allgaier both would pit three-laps later, handing the lead to Kyle Busch. Allgaier was penalized for a blend line violation and had to serve a drive-through penalty.
Kyle Busch pitted a lap later, handing the lead to Harrison Burton. Burton would pit on lap 177, and the new leader was Chase Briscoe, who had not yet pitted. Chase Briscoe pitted going with two tires as Kyle Busch resumed the lead on lap 191. Joe Graf Jr. got into the outside wall on the front stretch on lap 195 to bring out the ninth caution of the race, which meant the race was now heading into overtime.
Under the caution, both Brandon Jones and Chase Briscoe pitted for two tires while Justin Allgaier and Justin Haley went with four-tires. Overtime started at lap 200 with Kyle Busch in the lead. Busch would take the win by .949 seconds over Austin Cindric.

The rest of the top ten finishers were Chase Briscoe third, Justin Allgaier fourth, Harrison Burton fifth, Michael Annett sixth, Jeb Burton seventh, Brandon Jones eighth, Justin Haley ninth, and Ross Chastain tenth. There were fourteen lead changes by seven drivers and nine cautions for 39 laps.
After the race, Kyle Busch failed post-race inspection and was disqualified, making Austin Cindric the winner of the My Bariatric Solutions 300. This is Cindric’s third win of the season. The new top ten finishes were Chase Briscoe second, Justin Allgaier third, Harrison Burton fourth, Michael Annett fifth, Jeb Burton sixth, Brandon seventh, Justin Haley eighth, Ross Chastain ninth, and Brandon Brown tenth.
Cindric now sits just thirteen points out of first place in the points standings behind Chase Briscoe. The rest of the point standings are Noah Gragson third, Harrison Burton fourth, Justin Haley fifth, Justin Allgaier sixth, Brandon Jones seventh, Ross Chastain eighth, Michael Annett ninth, Ryan Sieg tenth, Riley Herbst eleventh, and Brandon Brown twelfth.
The next race for the Xfinity Series will be at Kansas Speedway in the Kansas Lottery 250 Saturday, July 25th, at 5 pm on NBCSN.
