The National Premier Soccer League officially welcomed the First State FC Midnight Riders from Wilmington, DE, to the league as an expansion team for the 2020 season. First State FC Midnight Riders will play in the NPSL Northeast Region’s Keystone Conference.
NPSL Managing Director Cindy Spera on the addition of First State FC Midnight Riders saying “Wilmington is a fantastic soccer community and we expect that this club will have huge success on and off the field under the NPSL brand.”
The Midnight Riders are led by a group that consists of Dave Holloway, Don Holloway, Kyle Evans Gay, and Chibsah Faisal, with Dave Holloway being the majority owner, President, and General Manager of First State FC.
Dave Holloway, on what his team will bring to the NPSL, saying, “We want to showcase the courage and independence that our state – the First State – stands for. We will develop strong rivalries with neighboring teams. In First State FC, the NPSL will have gained not just a team, but also a thriving and boisterous soccer community.”
With First State, FC now a member of the Keystone Conference. The conference now has ten teams. First State FC will compete against teams Atlantic City FC, New Jersey Copa FC, Hershey FC, FC Monmouth, FC Motown, Torch FC, Philadelphia Lone Star FC, Electric City Shock, and West Chester United SC.
