In 2020, Gibbs competed in the ARCA Menards Series, ARCA Menards Series East, and the ARCA Menards Series West. Gibbs finished in fifth in the ARCA Menards Series and second in the ARCA Menards Series East points standings.

Gibbs’s ARCA crew chief Mark McFarland on the upcoming 2021 season, said, “We want to build on the success that our team had last season. Ty works extremely hard to prepare each week, and it’s exciting to have him behind the wheel for every race and the opportunity to go after our goal of winning that championship.”

In addition to competing in ARCA, Gibbs will run a limited schedule in the Xfinity Series, driving the No. 54 Toyota Supra starting at the Daytona road course on February 20th. Chris Gayle will be Gibbs’s crew chief in the Xfinity Series. Gayle’s statement on working with Gibbs said, “I’m looking forward to the upcoming season. Ty has already shown a great deal of talent with each step he has taken in his career, and I think the opportunity to also learn from his veteran teammates will be a huge benefit to his development.”

The 2021 Xfinity Series season starts Saturday, February 13th, from Daytona International Speedway at 5 pm on FS1.
