The Atlantic League of Professional Baseball announced today that the 2019 Atlantic League Playoffs will begin on Tuesday, September 24th to determine this year’s champion.
The matchups for this year’s playoffs are Sugar Land Skeeters taking on the York Revolution for the Freedom Division Championship Series, and the High Point Rockers will battle the Long Island Ducks in the Liberty Division Championship Series.
In the Freedom Division Championship Series, the Sugar Land Skeeters made the playoffs by winning the first half-title. The Skeeters have won the Atlantic League championship two-times in 2016 and 2018. The York Revolution, who clinched the second half-title, have won the Atlantic League Championship three times in 2010, 2011 and, 2017. Games one and two will begin September 24th and 25th from Constellation Field in Sugar Land, TX. Games three September 27th, four September 28th (If necessary) and five September 29th (If necessary) will be played at PeoplesBank Park in York, PA.
In the Liberty Division Championship Series, the Long Island Ducks won both the first half and second half titles while the High Point Rockers are the wild card team. The Long Island Ducks are seeking their fourth Atlantic League title-winning in 2004, 2012, and 2013. The High Point Rockers are seeking their first Atlantic League championship in their inaugural year. The Series will begin with Games one and two on September 24th and 25th from BB&T Point in High Point, NC. Games three September 27th, four September 28th (If necessary), and five, September 29th (if necessary) will take place at Bethpage Park in Long Island, NY.
