Atlantic League of Professional Baseball releases 2020 schedule

The Atlantic League of Professional Baseball announced the 2020 schedule. The eight-team league season openers will be on April 30th and May 1st. One of the more notable teams that will not return is the New Britain Bees, who left for the Futures Collegiate Baseball League. The Bees have been replaced by the Road Warriors, a travel-only team.

Atlantic League President Rick White on what the fans can expect for the 2020 season saying “After a tremendously exciting and competitive 2019 season, I think all of our clubs and fans can expect more of the same in 2020,” he added “We are happy to announce this season’s slate of games and are already looking forward to Opening Day.”

The Road Warriors will join the High Point Rockers, Long Island Ducks, and Somerset Patriots in the Liberty Division while the Freedom Division remains the same with the Sugar Land Skeeters, Lancaster Barnstormers, York Revolution, and Southern Maryland Blue Crabs.

The April 30th season opener will see the High Point Rockers take on the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs and the Sugar Land Skeeters taking on the York Revolution. The May 1st season openers will see the defending Atlantic League champion Long Island Ducks welcoming the Lancaster Barnstormers and the Road Warriors visiting the Somerset Patriots.

The Atlantic League All-Star Game will be played on Wednesday, July 15th, at Regency Furniture Stadium in Waldorf, MD.
