After being rained out Tuesday night, the NASCAR Xfinity Series made its return to Darlington Raceway Thursday afternoon. The race was scheduled to get underway at noon, but Mother Nature had other plans, and the race finally got underway just after 4:20 pm.
Noah Gragson and Michael Annett led the field to the green flag to start the Toyota 200. Gragson led the first sixteen laps before the competition caution came out. Gragson led the field back to green on lap 25 and would go on to win stage one leading the first 46 laps. Gragson came into pit road with the lead but would come out second to Kyle Busch.

Kyle Busch and Noah Gragson led the field back to the green flag at lap 51 to start stage two. Busch put on a clinic and would dominate taking the stage two win.

Kyle Busch led everyone down to pit road, while he did beat everyone out, he was caught speeding and had to go to the rear of the field. Justin Allgaier led the field to the green, and he would spin his tires, and Chase Briscoe grabbed the lead. Allgaier was able to pass Briscoe on lap 130 to retake the lead from Biscoe, all while Kyle Busch was storming back into the race. The caution would fly on lap 133 after Michael Annett spun his car in between turns three and four.
All of the lead lap cars pitted, and Chase Briscoe came out first while Justin Allgaier was second and Kyle Busch third. The final few laps were shaping up to be a finish for the ages.
They're leaning on each other for the lead!!!@ChaseBriscoe5 escapes with the top spot, but @KyleBusch is in hot pursuit! GET TO @FS1 FOR THE FINISH! pic.twitter.com/0ZwbhVqxq3 — NASCAR Xfinity (@NASCAR_Xfinity) May 21, 2020
Biscoe led the field back to the green, and already there was contact between him and Allgaier with Busch lurking. Briscoe would make contact with the wall; thus, Kyle Busch took the lead with one lap to go. Briscoe did not give up and fought hard to regain the lead on the lap exiting out of turn four on the high side and would take the victory.
What a sprint to the finish!!! 😱@ChaseBriscoe5 holds off @KyleBusch to WIN the #Toyota200 at @TooToughToTame! pic.twitter.com/jgrJkyic1c — NASCAR Xfinity (@NASCAR_Xfinity) May 21, 2020
Kyle Busch would finish second, Justin Allgaier third, Austin Cindric fourth, Noah Gragson fifth, Daniel Hemic sixth, Ryan Sieg seventh, Ross Chastain eight, Harrison Burton ninth, and Justin Haley tenth. There were eleven lead changes and five cautions.
This was an emotional win for Briscoe as a day earlier, he announced that his wife had a miscarriage, and getting this win will help the healing process. Our thoughts go out to the Briscoe family.
