The Indoor Football League kicked off the 2020 season with two games when the Quad City Steamwheelers played the Cedar Rapids River Kings, and the San Diego Strike Force took on the Bismarck Bucks.
Quad City Steamwheelers 54, Cedar Rapids River Kings 39
Steamwheelers quarterback E.J Hillard, Jr finished the night 8 of 12 for 125-yards, one touchdown pass, and led the team in rushing with nine carries for 47-yards and three rushing touchdowns. Wide Receivers Tre Harvey and Keyvan Rudd combined for four receptions for 106-yards and one touchdown. The Steamwheelers defense recorded two sacks, one force fumble, and one interception.
River Kings quarterback Derrick Bernard finished the night 9 of 23 for 72-yards, two touchdown passes, one interception, 42-rushing yards, and one rushing touchdown. Wide receivers Shaquan Curenton, Elijah Johnson, and Bones Baguante combined for seven receptions for 65-yards, and three touchdowns. The River Kings defense recorded one sack and one forced fumble.
San Diego Strike Force 50, Bismarck Bucks 36
Strike Force quarterback Michael Carrillo finished the afternoon 9 of 17 for 132-yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions. Running back, Nathaniel Chavious had ten carries for 39-yards, two rushing touchdowns, two receptions for 26-yards, and a touchdown. Wide receivers Marques Rodgers, and Donta Armstrong combined for five receptions for 83-yards and two touchdowns. The Strike Force defense recorded one sack.
Bucks quarterback Tesleem Wilson finished the afternoon 5
of 22 for 36-yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Running back, Shad
Thorton led the Bucks in rushing and receiving with eight carries for 40-yards,
one reception for twelve-yards, and one touchdown. The Bucks defense did not
record a sack and had two interceptions.
