After suffering a 12-3 loss to the Sussex County Miners Wednesday night, the Jackals were looking to rebound and retake the series lead at Skylands Stadium. They did just that as they would defeat the Miners 2-0 Friday night to retake the series lead at 2-1.

After a single by Jackals outfielder Alfredo Marte, Jackals center fielder David Harris hit a two-run home run to put the Jackals up 2-0 in the top of the second inning.

That was all the scoring the Jackals needed to win the game. Jackals pitcher Justin Brantley did the rest as he went six innings, giving up two hits, four walks, and seven strikeouts to earn the win. Jackals relief pitcher Reese Karalus came in for Brantley and went two innings giving up three hits, one walk, and two strikeouts. Jackals closer Dylan Brammer finished the game and got the save.

The Jackals can clinch the Can-Am League championship tomorrow night at Skylands Stadium with first pitch set for 6:05 pm.
