A day after the announcement that the West Virginia Roughriders were joining the National Arena League. The NAL announced that the Jersey Flight were also joining the league in 2020. Jersey Flight plays its home games at the Cure Auto Insurance Arena in Trenton, NJ.

The Flight were founded in 2017 and were initially scheduled to join the NAL that season but left to join the American Arena League. During the two-years in the AAL, the Flight had made the playoffs last year and lost in the divisional round to the West Virginia Roughriders.

Jersey Flight owner Jay Sababu commented on joining the NAL, saying, “On behalf of the Flight Crew and Trenton, NJ, we are exhilarated to represent this wonderful league in the 2020 season. I would like to thank my new NAL partners as well as Commissioner Siegfried for welcoming us into the National Arena League, we look forward to giving the people of New Jersey and the surrounding areas a highly competitive, family-friendly, entertaining product at affordable prices.”

National Arena League Commissioner Chris Seigfried on the Jersey Flight joining the league saying, “We are excited to announce another expansion team for the 2020 season, the Jersey Flight. The NAL has made great strides during our first 3 seasons, and the addition of the Jersey Flight further enhances our presence in the northeast and helps solidify the NAL as a prominent professional arena league.”

The Jersey Flight now join the West Virginia Roughriders, Jacksonville Sharks, Orlando Predators, Massachusetts Pirates, and Columbus Lions as confirmed teams that will play in the National Arena League in 2020. The 2020 NAL schedule will be released at a later date.
