Kaulig Racing owner Matt Kaulig announced Wednesday morning on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio’s The Morning Drive that he will field one full-time car in the Cup Series next year. This year, Kaulig Racing is competing part-time in the Cup Series, with Justin Haley, Kaz Grala, and A.J. Allmendinger sharing the ride. The team is currently in 34th place in the point standings.
Kaulig told both Mike Bagley and Pete Pistone, “We’re going full-time Cup racing next year. We’ll have one car. We’ll have at least one car, let’s put it that way. So that’s definitely a done deal. We’re super-excited about that. That’s the reason we’re running … we’ll run 10 or 11 Cup races this year, and man, we’re already three in.”
Kaulig also told The Morning Drive that he purchased another race shop in Welcome, NC, and is preparing to move to the new shop. One of Kaulig’s drivers, Justin Haley, has competed in eight races this year with both Kaulig and Spire Motorsports. Haley won his first Cup Series race back in 2019 at Daytona. Haley is starting 31st in this weekend’s Cup Series race at Kansas Speedway.

This announcement comes on the heels of NASCAR’s new Next-Gen cars are set to be revealed on May 5th. However, two of the manufacturer’s Next-Gen cars were leaked online a week before the official unveiling of the cars.
The Xfinity Series is off this weekend and will make their return next Saturday, May 8th, at Darlington Raceway at 1 pm on FS1.
