Matt Cardona debuts on AEW Dynamite

Last night on AEW Dynamite, Matt Cardona, the former Zack Ryder of the WWE and host of the Major Wrestling Figure Podcast debuted by saving Arn Anderson from the Dark Order. He took out the Dark Order’s Alex Reynolds and John Silver after they attacked Cody Rhodes following successfully defending his TNT Championship against top independent wrestler Warhorse.

Matt Cardona was one of several wrestlers released by the WWE back on April 15th. His best friend, tag team partner, and co-host of the Major Wrestling Figure Podcast Brian Myers recently signed with Impact Wrestling.

Since his departure, Cardona has been busy not only on his podcast but recently announcing his action figure by the toy company Super7 along with Brian Myers and The Good Brothers (Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows). The Good Brothers recently signed with Impact Wrestling and debuted at Slammiversary.

Shortly after saving Cody Rhodes from the Dark Order, All Elite Wrestling announced that Cardona would make his in-ring debut next Wednesday, teaming with Cody Rhodes to take on the Dark Order’s Alex Reynolds and John Silver. Now that Cardona is in AEW, it will be interesting to see how far he can go. He had built himself into a star with his YouTube channel and inventing the Internet Championship. WWE failed to capitalize on Cardona’s popularity for over a decade.
