The New Jersey Jackals of the Can-Am Baseball League advanced to the Can-Am League Championship game with a 3-2 win over the Trios-Rivieres Aigles in Game 5 of the 2019 Can-Am League playoffs.
The Aigles got on the board first in the fourth inning when Juan Kelly hit a home run to put the Aigles up 1-0. The Aigles would follow up with a double by Michael Suchy driving Taylor Brennan home to extend the Aigles lead 2-0.
The Jackals would answer back in the fifth inning when Isaac Wenrich hit a two-run single to tie the game up at 2-2. The Aigles would take the lead back in the bottom of the fifth as David Glaude scored on a wild pitch by Matt Dallas.
The Jackals would once again tie the game in the top of the sixth as David Harris drove in Conrad Gregor on a single to even the score up 3-3. In the tenth inning, the Jackals would take the lead as Demetrius Moore scored on an e5 by Aigles third baseman Tyler Brennan and the Jackals were now up 4-3.
In the bottom of the tenth inning, the Jackals brought in closer Dylan Brammer to close the game out. Dylan would strike out the first two batters before Aigles Raphael Gladu flied out to right field to end the game. The Jackals defeat the Trios-Rivieres Aigles four games to three. Reece Karalus (4IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 9 SO) earned the win and Dylan Brammer (1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 0 SO) earned the save.
The Jackals will now play the Sussex County Miners September 10th for Game One of the Can-Am League Championship.
