Raphael Lessard joins GMS Racing in 2021

Former Kyle Busch Motorsports driver Raphael Lessard joined GMS Racing on Wednesday. He will replace Brett Moffitt, who moved up to the Xfinity Series full-time. He will drive for GMS Racing in 12 races while finding additional sponsors to compete for the full 2021 Camping World Truck Series season.

The President of GMS Racing, Mike Beam, on adding Lessard said, “We are very excited to have Raphael join GMS Racing for part of the 2021 season. I believe Raphael will be a great addition to our GMS stable, and I look forward to seeing him wheel one of our Chevrolets.”
Lessard wrapped up his rookie season with KBM, starting in all 23-races with one win at Talladega along with four top-five and seven top-ten finishes. He joins a successful team with three of its four drivers competing in this year’s championship four at Phoenix, with Sheldon Creed winning the championship. Zane Smith and Brett Moffitt finished second and third in the standings.
Raphael Lessard released a statement on joining GMS Racing said, “Finding myself with the best team of the 2020 season is unbelievable. They won the championship! I can’t wait to show what we can do aboard such great machines. The team knows how to bring potential winners at every race, a key to a great season. Our team will be great, and I can’t wait to be back on track.”
The 2021 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season starts on Friday, February 12th, at Daytona International Speedway.
