The Cedar Rapids River Kings of the Indoor Football League announced that they have hired Victor Mann as the new head coach. Mann joins the River Kings after spending four years as a coach for the Champions Indoor Football League’s Texas Revolution. There, he guided the Revolution to three straight conference championships, winning the CIF championship in 2017 and was named Coach of the Year in 2016.
“We felt it was important to get a coach with a winning record and mentality to help move this franchise in a positive direction,” said River Kings General Manager, Reggie Harris. “In his time as a head coach he has been known to build winning teams while being a great recruiter and staying active in the community. He fits with the culture we are building here and we expect to see big things immediately.”
Mann played college football at Kansas State as a running back under Hall of Fame coach Bill Snyder. There, he was named All-Big 12 Conference selection for three consecutive years. Mann was awarded MVP in 2005 and was named to the American Football Coaches Association Good Works Team which recognizes college athletes for community service. His post collegiate career includes playing for the Kansas City Chiefs and playing five years in the Arena Football League’s Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz and Kansas City Command.
“It’s time to go full TeamNoSoft,” expressed Mann. “I’m excited for this new coaching venture and ready to compete with the best.”
