Chase Elliott won the pole for this Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series finale at Phoenix Raceway. Elliott is one of four drivers competing for the NASCAR championship. He won the pole by virtue of a metric qualifying system that takes into account the drivers finishing positions from previous races, team owner points, and fastest laps of earlier races. The other drivers competing for the championship are Joey Logano starting second, Brad Keselowski is starting third, and Denny Hamlin is starting fourth.
