Spire Motorsports was located in Mooresville, NC, and recently purchased Levine Family Racing’s assets. They will move into their shop to Concord, NC. Spire Motorsports lone win came at a rain-shorten Coca-Cola Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona in 2019 driven by Justin Haley. With LaJoie confirmed, Spire Motorsports will soon announce the second driver for the No. 77 Chevrolet.
LaJoie is the son of former two-time Xfinity Series champion Randy LaJoie. He raced for his dad in the K&N Pro Series East and, in 2012, won five races with ten top-five and ten top-ten finishes and would finish runner-up to Kyle Larson in the championship. He continued to race for his dad in the ARCA Menards Series, appearing in five races, winning three of them at Chicagoland, Pocono, and Kentucky in 2013.
The 2021 NASCAR Cup Series season starts February 14th with the Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway.
