After almost a month off, the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour returned to White Mountain Motorsports Park Saturday night in the White Mountain Showdown 200. Jon McKennedy, in the number 7 car, won the pole with a time of 11.506 seconds at 78.220 mph. Starting next to him was the number 75 car of Chris Pasteryak. Justin Bonsignore was looking to do something never before done in Modified Tour history, and that was win three-straight.

Jon McKennedy was quick to get ahead of Pasteryak at the start of the race. It did not take long for the cars to get into a single file. Justin Bonsignore, who started in eighth place, had already lost four positions since the start settling into twelfth position. The first caution of the night would come out on lap 30 for a spin on the front stretch by Walter Sutcliffe, Jr.

Jon McKennedy led the field back to green on lap 36. Once again, McKennedy got in front of Pasteryak for the lead. Pasteryak was battling the 07 car of Patrick Emerling side-by-side for a few laps before Pasteryak took the second position. In another battle for tenth place, Tommy Catalano, Matt Swanson, Anthony Nocella, and Rob Summers were two-wide for a few laps before Anthony Nocella lost a couple of spots to both Swanson and Nocella and settled for thirteenth. The second caution would come out on lap 66 as Rob Summers got loose and spun at turn four, resulting in no damage.

The race would resume on lap 74 with McKennedy in the lead. Both McKennedy and Pasteryak got in front of the field while Patrick Emerling and Doug Coby were in a battle for third place. Coby would eventually take over third as the rest of the field got back into a single file. The restart only lasted 18 laps when the number two car of JR Bertuccio stopped in the infield on the front stretch to bring out the third caution of the night. Unfortunately for Bertuccio, his car overheated, and his day was done finishing in 26th place.

As the race resumed on lap 94, McKennedy was ahead of Coby and Pasteryak, who were both side-by-side. The rest of the field were also side-by-side before cars began to get back into a single file. The restart did not last long as the fourth caution would come for the 06 of Sam Rameau as he spun at turn one. McKennedy would lead the field back to green on lap 109. The restart only lasted three laps before the fifth caution came out as the number 54 car of Tommy Catalano hit his breaks after a couple of cars checked up, causing Catalano to get tapped by Woody Pitkat, which sent him into the wall hard enough to break his suspension and sent his tire up in the air and back onto the track barely missing other drivers.

After the track crews cleaned up the mess, it was time to go back to racing on lap 121. Doug Coby was all over the back of McKennedy. As they were battling for first, Kyle Bonsignore took the second position from Ron Silk. At the same time, Coby finally got around McKennedy with an inside PASS heading into turn three on lap 135. Coby began to distance himself from McKennedy as lap traffic came into play. McKennedy now had to defend the second position from Chris Pasteryak. As Coby continued to lead, the 64 car of Rob Summers would bring out the sixth caution of the night after spinning on turn two with 23 laps to go.

Doug Coby led the field back to green on lap 183. Jon McKennedy got a great jump on Coby as both drivers were two-wide. McKennedy was aggressive as Pasteryak got loose and hit McKennedy, causing him to get loose at turn one and hit Chris Pasteryak to bring out the seventh caution of the night. Also involved in the accident were Dave Sapienza, and Ron Silk.

Coby led the field back to green with six laps to go. Once again, McKennedy was aggressive and would lose a couple of spots to Kyle Bonsignore and Matt Swanson. Coby had checked out by that point as he would win the White Mountain Showdown 200 by .570 seconds over the second-place finisher Kyle Bonsignore. With the win, Coby now trails Justin Bonsignore by nine points in the point standings.
