Front Row Motorsports owner Bob Jenkins released a statement on the team’s website saying, “We want to thank John Hunter for being a part of Front Row Motorsports and beginning his NASCAR Cup Series career with us. He certainly helped elevate our performance this past season and brought added value to our No. 38 team. We wish him the best in the next phase in his career and he will always be a friend of ours.”
Before competing for Front Row Motorsports this year, Nemechek got his start racing for his dad’s team NEMCO Motorsports in the Camping World Truck Series and still races for his dad on a part-time basis. During his time in the Truck Series, he had six wins, two-pole, 28 top-five, and 50 top-ten finishes.
In 2018, he split his time racing for his dad and Chip Ganassi Racing in the Xfinity Series. His only win in the Xfinity Series came at Kansas Speedway along with one pole, six top-five, and eleven top-ten finishes. In 2019, he joined GMS Racing and managed six top-five and 19 top-ten finishes before moving up to the Cup Series. As stated by Nemechek on Twitter, he will announce his next move at a later date.
