The NWHL returned from the All-Star break Saturday with two games on tap. Here are the results.

Boston Pride 4, Connecticut Whale 1

Boston Pride secured their twenty-first win of the season in a 4-1 win over the Connecticut Whale at the Warrior Ice Arena. The goals scored for the Pride were Lexie Laing, Jillian Dempsey, Mallory Souliotis, and Alyssa Wohlfeiler. Kaycie Anderson scored the lone goal for Connecticut. Connecticut goalie Brooke Wolejko was pulled for an extra attacker, and Boston put the game away with an empty-net goal by Alyssa Wohlfeiler.

Pride goaltender Lovisa Selander made twenty-two of twenty-three saves allowing one goal, and Whale’s goaltender Brooke Wolejko made forty-six of forty-nine saves allowing three goals.

The three stars of the game were Connecticut goaltender Brook Wolejko with forty-six saves, Pride forward Lexie Lang with one goal, and Pride forward Jillian Dempsey with one goal and one assist.

Buffalo Beauts 6, Metropolitan Riveters 5

The Buffalo Beauts defeated the Metropolitan Riveters 6-5 in a shootout at ProSkate Arena. Each goaltender, Beauts goalie Tiffany Hsu and Riveters goalie Sam Walther allowed five goals in regulation. Beauts defenseman Ana Orzechowski scored the game-winner in a shootout. Goals scored for the Beauts were Corinne Buie, Kandice Sheriff, Kim Brown, Iveta Klimasova, Taylor Accursi, and Ana Orzechowski in a shootout. For the Riveters, goals scored by Leila Kilduff, Kiira Dosdall-Arena, Kelly Nash, Kate Leary, and Brooke Avery.

Beauts goaltender Tiffany Hsu made thirty-four of thirty-nine saves allowing five goals, and Riveters goaltender Sam Walther made fifteen of twenty saves, allowing five goals in regulation play.

The three stars of the game were Beauts forward Kandice Sheriff with one goal and one assist, Riveters forward Kelly Nash with one goal and two assists, and Beauts defender Ana Orzechowski with the game-winning shootout goal.
