The NWHL entered its final weekend of the regular season with two games as Buffalo Beauts took on the Metropolitan Riveters from the ProSkate Arena, and the Connecticut Whale traveled to the Tria Rink against the Minnesota Whitecaps.

The Riveters combined for five goals from Brooke Baker, Jayne Lewis, Madison Packer, Leila Kilduff, and Kendall Cornine while goaltender Sam Walther finished the night twenty-five of twenty-seven saves allowing two goals. The Riveters had a total of forty-one shots in the game. While the win was great, they did give up five penalties that the Beauts couldn’t take advantage of them.
The Beauts only had twenty-seven shots in the game. Goals were scored by Mikyla Grant-Mentis and Cassidy MacPherson, while goaltender Lea-Kristine Demers made thirty-six of forty-one saves allowing five goals. Buffalo only gave up two penalties throughout the game.
Both teams will wrap up the regular season tomorrow at 4:30 pm from the ProSkate Arena.

The Whitecaps dominated this game led by Allie Thunstrom’s hat trick goals. Meaghan Pezon, Sam Donovan, and Jonna Curtis each had one goal. Minnesota only gave up two penalties in the game and had fifty-five shots. Goaltender Amanda Leveille made thirty-four of thirty-seven saves allowing three goals.
Connecticut’s goals were scored by Sarah Schwenzfeier, Shannon Doyle, and Elena Gualtieri. The Whale had thirty-seven total shots. Goaltender Brooke Wolejko finished the night with forty-nine of fifty-five saves allowing six goals.
The three stars of the game were Connecticut defenseman Shannon Doyle with one goal and two assists, Whitecaps forward Jonna Curtis with one goal and three assists, and Whitecaps forward Allie Thunstrom with three goals and one assist. Both teams will wrap up the regular season tomorrow at 2 pm from the Tria Rink.
