Not a mechanic, but pretty sure that's not how a tire is suppose to be attached.#NWMT | @StaffordSpeedwy pic.twitter.com/pB1ZmKPzLG — NASCAR Roots (@NASCARRoots) September 26, 2020
During the caution, most of the leaders went to pit road, including the leader Pitkat changing rear tires only. Justin Bonsignore was the new leader as the race resumed on lap 83. During the caution, most of the leaders went to pit road for their final stops, including Justin Bonsignore and Ron Silk. The new leader was Chuck Hossfeld, as the race resumed with 45 laps to go. Pitkat went back into the lead after Chase Dowling tried to make it three-wide for the lead as Hossfeld went to third. Dowling would get the lead from Pitkat and led two laps before the caution was out again for the eighth time for a spin at turn two by Gary Byington.
Dowling led the field back to green with 34 laps to go. The field only made it through two turns before Eric Goodale’s car got loose and was hit from behind by Tim Solomito, sending him across the track and hitting Matt Galko to bring out the ninth caution. Both Galko and Goodale were out of the race.
For the final time of the night, Dowling led the field back to green on lap 123. Ron Silk took the lead on the same lap from the outside and never looked back. Silk led the last 27 laps to win his second race of the season by 1.446 seconds over Doug Coby.
