Top 5 Wrestlers Who Could Join AEW Wrestling

On January 1, 2019, The Young Bucks, Adam Page, and Cody Rhodes made a much-anticipated announcement on an episode of their show “Being The Elite.” They announced the creation of a new wrestling company called All Elite Wrestling. They also announced their first event for their wrestling company will be called “Double or Nothing.” Since the announcement, AEW received the backing of Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shahid Kahn and his son Tony Kahn. The AEW was then able to sign big name wrestlers like PAC, Chris Jericho, Britt Baker, MJF, Joey Janela and SCU. With so much anticipation building about AEW, who else could join them. Here are the top 5 wrestlers who could join AEW.

1. Dolph Ziggler

Dolph Ziggler is a great talent. He has shown he can be a main event star if given the opportunity. Ziggler has come a long way from the days of being a member of the stable “The Spirit Squad.” He has excellent mic skills, great in-ring work, and a great storyteller. The wrestling fans have appreciated him for what he has done in the WWE and want him to succeed elsewhere. If he decides to join AEW, Ziggler would finally be a main event star and feud with wrestlers like Jericho, PAC, and Adam Page.

2. Dean Ambrose

Dean Ambrose of the famous wrestling stable “The Shield,” recently announced that he would be a free agent in April. Ambrose’s mic skills and his in-ring work are one of the best in the business. He will have options to choose from and expect to hear names like NJPW, ROH, and AEW to bid for his services. If he decides to join AEW, he will surely be in the main event right away with Jericho, Rhodes, and PAC competing for the AEW championship.

3. Shinsuke Nakamura

Shinsuke Nakamura is another interesting name who is scheduled to be a free agent later this year. Nakamura is known worldwide for his “King of Strong Style” when he wrestled for New Japan Pro Wrestling and won multiple titles in NJPW for years before joining the WWE in 2016. Nakamura had a great stint in NXT, winning the NXT title two-times before making his main roster debut on Smackdown. Since then, he has been a two-time United States champion and competed against AJ Styles for the WWE championship. If Nakamura decides to leave WWE, he would likely either go back to Japan or join AEW. Should Nakamura join AEW, New Japan Pro Wrestling will more likely want to work with AEW in the foreseeable future.

4. Kylie Rae

Kylie Rae is not just the typical wrestler. She is famously known for wearing the Pokémon character Pikachu ring gear for her matches. She has won championships in different promotions like CWA, ROW, Zelo Pro Wrestling and is currently the AAW Women’s champion. If Rae decides to join AEW, she would be part of a unique core of women’s wrestlers who are signing with AEW and a star in the women’s division.

5. Shane Strickland

Shane Strickland or “Killshot” from Lucha Underground is a cannot miss attraction at wrestling shows. Strickland’s ability to perform unprecedented moves in and out of the ring has fans cheering him. Strickland has won many championships from different promotions like CZW, Lucha Underground, MLW, Evolve and more. Strickland, who is currently a free agent, would make a great addition to the AEW roster.
