William Bryon dominates at the Monster Mile

Since the eNASCAR Pro Invitational Series launched, it’s been the William Byron show, and he did it again Sunday afternoon dominating at the virtual Dover International Speedway. Byron led 79 laps and only had to hold off Christopher Bell to claim the victory. Byron has now won three of the last four races.

Ross Chastain started the race on the pole along with Garrett Smithley to make up the front row. Chastain led three laps before being passed by Parker Kligerman. Chastain ended up finishing 17th one lap down. After passing Chastain for the lead, Kligerman led eleven laps but would end up crashing and finished 34th 71 laps down. Garrett Smithley (11), Alex Bowman (5), Denny Hamlin (11), and Timmy Hill (32) also led some laps.
The rest of the top ten included Christopher Bell finishing second, Timmy Hill third, Erik Jones fourth, Michael McDowell fifth, Denny Hamlin sixth, Ryan Blaney seventh, Alex Bowman eighth, Garrett Smithley ninth, and Aric Almirola tenth. Other notable finishes were Bobby Labonte thirteenth, Kyle Busch fifteenth, Kurt Busch sixteenth, Kevin Harvick eighteenth, Dale Earnhardt Jr. twenty-sixth, and Jimmie Johnson twenty-eighth. There was a total of nine cautions throughout the race for forty laps and twelve lead changes.

As NASCAR gets ready to return to the racetrack in a couple of weeks starting at Darlington Raceway, they have one more special eNASCAR Pro Invitational Series race next Saturday from the debuting virtual North Wilkesboro Speedway. North Wilkesboro Speedway used to hold NASCAR races from 1949 until 1996 when the series was moving to bigger and newer racetracks. Jeff Gordon was the last winner at North Wilkesboro Speedway on September 29, 1996. The race will be on at 3 pm on FOX, FS1, and the FOX Sports App.
